    INNOVATIVE SPACE PROPULSION SYSTEMS - NITROUS OXIDE FUEL BLEND NOFBX EXPERIMENT THE NITROUS OXIDE FUEL BLEND EXPERIMENT (NOFBX) ENGINE IS BEING DEPLOYED ON THE ISS TO PROVIDE INTEGRATED SYSTEM CERTIFICATION, FLIGHT HERITAGE, AND ON-ORBIT OPERATIONS EXPERIENCE FOR A COMMERCIALLY DEVELOPED, NON-TOXIC MONOPROPELLANT THAT WILL OCCUR DURING THE PERFORMANCE OF THIS EFFORT. THE RECIPIENT SHALL DESIGN, FABRICATE, AND TEST THE FLIGHT UNIT OF THE NOFBX ENGINE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THIS STATEMENT OF COLLABORATION. A FLIGHT UNIT CONSISTS OF THE NOFBX THRUSTER, ASSOCIATED AVIONICS, AND ELECTRONICS, SENSORS, THERMAL HARDWARE, STRUCTURAL HARDWARE, AND INSTALLATION HARDWARE CONSISTENT WITH INTERFACES REFERENCED BY THIS SOW. THE RECIPIENT SHALL DESIGN AND TEST ASSOCIATED FLIGHT SOFTWARE AND SUPPORT HARDWARE. THE RECIPIENT SHALL PROVIDE FLIGHT SUPPORT TO NOFBX OPERATIONS. THE OBJECTIVES OF THIS ACTIVITY ARE TO DEMONSTRATE AT LEAST 6 MODES OF MULTIPURPOSE ON ORBIT NOFBX THRUSTER OPERATION. BUILD FLIGHT SUPPORT EQUIPMENT AND INTEGRATE ONTO A NASA SUPPLIED FLIGHT RELEASABLE ATTACHMENT MECHANISM, TO PERMIT LAUNCH ON THE VISITING VEHICLE, OPERATION AT, AND ATTACHMENT TO, AND ISS EXTERNAL STOWAGE LOCATION, ACCESS TO ISS POWER, COMMANDING HEALTH MONITORING, EXPERIMENT DATA, AND VIDEO. DEVELOP THE NOFBX FLIGHT EXPERIMENT UNDER ISS PSRP REVIEW TO ULTIMATELY PROVIDE THE CLOSEST METRIC TO AEROSPACE HUMAN RATING OF AT LEAST ONE NOFBX MONOPROPELLANT BLEND AND COMPANION PROPULSION HARDWARE SUSSYSTEM DESIGNED AND CONFIGURED AS CLOSELY AS POSSIBLE FOR FUTURE APPLICATIONS. COMPLETE MIL-STD 2105C BASED THREAT HAZARD ASSESSMENT PLAN AND RELATED TESTING OF NOFBX MONOPROPELLANTS FOR NASA, COMMERCIAL, AND CIVIL AEROSPACE APPLICATIONS. DEMONSTRATE PUMPLESS ON-ORBIT NOFBX MONOPROPELLANTS TRANSFER IN A MICROGRAVITY ENVIRONMENT FOR FUTURE ON-ORBIT PROPELLANT TRANSFER OPERATIONS AND REFUELING. DEMONSTRATE PASSIVE THERMAL STORAGE OF NOFBX MONOPROPULSION SYSTEM IN EXTREME ON-ORBIT THERMAL ENVIRONMENT FOR UP TO ONE YEAR; FOLLOWED BY ENGINE RESTART. ASSERT US LEADERSHIP AND GLOBAL BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY FOR EMERGENT US AEROSPACE BUSINESSES IN THE COMPETITIVE FIELD OF HIGH PERFORMANCE GREEN PROPELLANTS.
