    SCHEDULE A - STABILIZATION OF TWO ROCK SLOPE SITES (TEMPORARY FIX) 1. INSTALLATION OF TEMPORARY TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES AND COORDINATION WITH OTHER CONTRACTOR(S) WORKING WITHIN PROJECT SITE. 2. ROCK SCALING TO REMOVE ANY LOOSE ROCK AND MATERIALS FROM SLOPE FACE THAT MAY PRESENT HAZARD TO TRAFFIC AND WORKERS. ROCK SLOPES SHOULD BE SCALED FROM TOP DOWN. ONLY HAND TOOLS BE UTILIZED DURING ROCK SCALING AND NO MACHINE SCALING SHOULD BE ALLOWED. THE EXACT LOCATIONS AND THE EXTENT OF THE AREAS TO BE SCALED WILL BE DETERMINED IN THE FILED BY THE CO. SALVAGE ALL SCALED ROCK AND DELIVER TO DANGERFIELD ISLAND, LOCATED APPROXIMATELY 9 MILES FROM PROJECT SITE. 3. DESIGN AND INSTALLATION OF TENSIONED ROCK ANCHORS ALONG THE CREST OF THE SLOPE. PROOF TEST ALL ROCK ANCHORS FOR A LOAD OF 50 KIPS. LOCK ANCHORS AT 7 KIPS 4. DESIGN AND INSTALLATION OF ACTIVE DRAPED ROCKFALL PROTECTION. SUSPEND ROCKFALL DRAPE ALONG THE CREST OF THE SLOPE AND DRAPE IT DOWN THE FACE SO AS TO RESTRAIN LOOSE AND BROKEN ROCK THAT MAY FALL. THE DRAPE SHOULD BE TERMINATED 4 FT ABOVE THE GROUND SURFACE. THE NET SHOULD CONSIST OF A LIGHTER MESH OVERLAIN BY A LARGE OPENING WIRE OR STEEL STRAND MESH NETTING. THE HIGH TENSILE STEEL WIRE FOR THE LARGE OPENING MESH SHOULD HAVE A MINIMUM DIAMETER OF 0.157 IN (4 MM) AND A TENSILE STRENGTH STEEL WIRE OF EQUAL TO OR GREATER THAN 256 KSI. 5. TEMPORARY TRAFFIC CONTROL CONCRETE BARRIERS FOR LANE CLOSURE AT MP 7.25 WILL REMAIN IN PLACE TILL APRIL 2011. PRICE FOR CONCRETE BARRIER PAID FOR ONCE. ANY RELOCATION OR MOVEMENT OF BARRIER IS INCIDENTAL TO BARRIER COST.
